Paul D. Assaiante Tennis Center

The Tennis Center was built in 2010 and provides space for both the women's and the men's tennis teams at Trinity. It contains 8 courts and a raised area for spectators, all surrounded by large lights. The center was named after Paul D. Assaiante, coach of men's squash and men's tennis at Trinity and associate professor of physical education. This was for his time and commitment as a long time coach and friend of the college.

The construction and maintenance of the center cost over 1 million dollars, and donors to the project included Trinity alumni, the United States Tennis Association, and the Hartford Foundation of Public Living. The United States Tennis Association also helped in designing the court itself. A cited purpose of the court was to not only provide high quality courts for Trinity's tennis teams, but to also provide a space for the Hartford community to utilize. For example, tennis programming was planned with children from Learning Corridor School.
