The College purchased the property along with the adjacent building, which was later named [[park_place_hall|Park Place Hall]], in 1957 for $65,000. It was originally used for faculty housing and then converted to student living spaces.
 In 1982, in an effort to name the "nameless" dorms on Trinity's campus, a committee, with student and administrative input, voted to name the dormitory Boardwalk Hall.
