Convocation
Convocation is an event which introduces and welcomes the incoming freshman class to the College, held on the same day as Matriculation. The ceremony entails the freshmen gathering together during their Orientation Week, often on the Main Quad, and listening to speeches addressed to them about their upcoming four years at Trinity. Although there are sometimes multiple speakers, the President of the College always makes an address during Convocation.
Other traditions happen during Convocation, including the use of the Lemon Squeezer by the President and the subsequent drinking of lemonade by the whole freshman class. More recently, Convocation has also been the time where the new class of students are assigned their Nests.
