Convocation

Convocation is an event which introduces and welcomes incoming first-year students to the College, held on the same day as Matriculation. The ceremony entails first-year students gathering together during their Orientation Week, often on the main quad, to listen to speeches about their upcoming four years at Trinity. Although there are sometimes multiple speakers, the president of the College always makes an address during Convocation.

Other traditions happen during Convocation, including the use of the lemon squeezer by the president and the subsequent drinking of lemonade by the whole first-year class. More recently, Convocation has also been the time where the new class of students is assigned to their Nests.
