The Coop is an on-campus thrift store located under Jackson Hall. Established in 2011 by Green Campus, the Coop sells used clothing, furniture, applicainces, books, CD’s and more to the community.

Both cash and Bantam Bucks are accepted as payment, and all proceeds are donated to local charities at the end of the school year. Charities have included the Keney Park Sustainability Project, Interval House, and Hartford Mutual Aid. Management is directed out of the Community Service Office, but the store itself is entirely run by student volunteers.

The store takes donations from students year round, and also participates in and helps facilitate the annual Dump and Run. Occurring during move out at the end of the school year, sites are set up around dorms where students can “dump” any belongings they want to get rid of. The Coop then sorts through the donations and resells them. Donations also come from academic buildings on campus clearing out storage rooms, as well as Greek life houses disposing of unused items.
