Trinity Film Society
The Trinity Film Society is a group of students on campus who are all interested in film and work together to put on school events related to film and film making. The Trinity Film Festival is the most notable of these events, and others include Moonlight Movies and special showings of certain films.
The Society was originally formed in 1965, with a focus on promoting film as an art medium and working to bring filmmakers on campus to talk about their work. They started their first film festival as a Society in September of 1965. It was held in the Goodwin Theatre of the Austin Arts Center and 10 films were selected and shown over the course of several months.
The Society reformed officially in 2011. Cinestudio became central to TFS's
