Trinity's softball field is located directly behind the main quad (in the direction of Broad Street). The natural grass field was completed in 2017, and measures 200' to right and left field and 220' in center field. Irrigation systems are in place under the grass to allow for playing in all weather. and the hitting cages that were constructed at the same time also feature all weather friendly synthetic surfaces. New dugouts, netting, and chainlink fencing were also installed with the fields construction.

The construction was apart of the larger Fields of Excellence project which advocated for and funded the building of many new Trinity fields. These included Trinity's Soccer Field, the Jessee/Miller Field, and a new baseball field. Upon the softball and baseball field's opening, a ceremony was held in Mather Hall to honor the donors who had financially supported Fields of Excellence. A softball game against Bowdoin College was supposed to be played on the brand new field following the event, but was rained out.
