Boardwalk Hall

A student dormitory located at 183-185 Allen Place in the North Campus area. The dormitory, which is a converted apartment house, was formerly known as Allen East.

In 1982, in an effort to name the “nameless” dorms on Trinity's campus, a committee, with student and administrative input, voted to name the dormitory Boardwalk Hall.

Residential Services designated Boardwalk the Music Dorm in 1991, supporting students studying music, with practice space for individuals and bands within the dorm itself.

In 2019, Boardwalk and the adjacent dorm Park Place closed for extensive repairs and renovations totaling over $2 million. Extensive interior upgrades were needed. The dorms had earlier received exterior renovation upgrades in 2012.

These renovations removed the two dorms from the student housing lottery and left 50 students on a waitlist. To accommodate the shortage of on-campus housing, the Dean of Students allowed more students to live in off-campus housing.
