The Nest Artists was formed in 2020 by student artists who wished to create an inclusive space for students to gather, create, share, and express themselves in a variety of creative media.

The Nest Artists promote and organize art-centered events and invite others to create in various forms. These include traditional visual works such as drawing, painting, and digital art as well as knitting, crocheting, quilting, zines, writing, performances, and audiovisual works such as original music or short films. The Nest Artists welcome anyone, regardless of experience.

The Nest Artists held its first staple event, the TrinGala exhibition showcase, on April 8, 2022. “A combination of the Met Gala and an art show,” students submitted works for a chance to win a cash prize, dressed in formalwear based on the theme, and walked the red carpet. The first TrinGala was themed after Gustav Klimt’s painting The Kiss and was hosted in the Chapel, which was transformed for the event with catered food, student art, and floral decorations. In 2023, TrinGala was reprised, with Monet's Waterlilies as its theme.

In December 2022, the Nest Artists held its first student craft fair, in which students displayed and sold completed and on-demand commissioned artworks, co-hosted the Long Night of ProCRAFTination with library staff. An evolution of the library's popular “Long Night Against Procrastination” program in which students are encouraged to take a break from studying for finals, ProCRAFTination featured arts and crafting as activities.

The Nest Artists also contribute artwork to enhance college spaces. Neema Kimondo '23, Tiana Sharpe '23, and Kiara Kaltschnee '23 painted an eight-wall mural for the Underground Coffeehouse in 2020. Kimondo and Sharpe painted murals for the Library in 2023. There are also commissioned murals anticipated for the Charleston House and La Eracra.
