Trinity College Council
The Trinity College Council, or TCC, was originally a 12 person advisory body to the President (though it grew to 22 people in 1970, and 8 people in 1972). The original 12 people was made up of four students, four administrators, and four faculty. At times it included more administrators, faculty, as well as the introduction of a staff member, a parent, and alumni's.
The Council was established in 1968 by President Theodore Lockwood. This was in an effort to make campus government more democratic by creating a body that would be able to review campus policies before they hit the larger community. They reviewed issues of finical aid, the college rules, and building proposals. By 1972, interest and participation in the Council had faded and it changed to simply stand by status. It was completely phased out in the following years, replaced by newer forms of student government.
